Had a visit on my first night landing in HK. The place was a more modern, air-conditioned version of a traditional dai pai dong, and was more comfortable than expected. Service was brisk and the restaurant was bustling and loud.
The 蟶子 (razor clam) was fresh, tender, and springy, and not overcooked. The black bean sauce was savoury and well balanced, not overly salty. The clams were also noticeably larger compared to the ones I usually have in Singapore.
The fermented beancurd mixed vegetable (南乳齋煲) was a huge portion and very flavourful, although a little on the salty side. Both dishes came in generous portions, and two of us could not even finish the vegetable pot as we were already very full.
